1. Moving With Pets
Start to plan your move at least 4-5 weeks before you move. By the law you can not transport your pet with the regular household goods moving companies.
You have generally two options to move your pet: By special pets transportation companies or you can take your pet with you. if you are going to use the pets special transportation companies,you have to ask them about your pet transport arrangements. If you are moving by vehicle, you need to check with the states that you are going to pass and with the state that you are moving to about their laws regarding pets,because the laws are different between the states. if you are planning to travel by air or by sea to your new location – ask your travel agent about travel arrangements for your pet.
Before you move it’s a good idea to take your pet to veterinarian for general check . ask your veterinarian about your pet health and about special recommendation for your individual pet. keep all the documents about your pet’s health,you may be asked to show your pet’s documents in the border inspection when you enter to some states. keep your pet routines as regular as possible before your move and during your move. one of your family members has to take responsibility for
your pet.
If you are planning to move by your vehicle do not to forget take with you:
Dishes for your pet’s food and water.
Food and water
Kennel
Leash
Toy
Blankets
Some other items that you think that your pet will need during your move.
2. Moving With Plants
If you are moving by vehicle you need to check with the states that you are going to pass,and with The state that you are moving to, about their laws regarding pets, the laws are different between the states.
Before your move
Few days before your move put your plants in a plastic bag with a flea collar or some other bugs powder,close the plastic bag and place it in a cool area for 7 hours.that will kill the pest and the insects.
Cut the large pieces of the plants that may break during your move.
Move day
Put your plants in plastic containers or bags just before you are moving out.
Do not forget to leave an open space for fresh air when you put your plants in the plastic bags.
On your way
You need to keep and to check that your plants are not “missing”:
Light or dark – some plants needs shadow and some needs light.
Correct temperature – you need to keep the correct temperature for your plants.
Fresh air – most,if not all,of the plants need fresh air.
Water – your plants need water,if it’s not necessary it’s better to wait until you will unpack your plants in your new place.
